About Winston Churchill
Winston Churchill was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 26 October 1951 – 7 April 1955. He is mostly remembered for rallying and leading Britain to the Second World War victory. Also, Winston Churchill’s birthname is Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill.
Lord Randolph Churchill fathered Churchill. Also, Jennie Churchill also known as Jerome gave birth to Churchill, she was his mother.
Churchill was born into British aristocracy – his father Lord Randolf Churchill was a prominent politician – so his climb to the top was almost inevitable. Also, he attended Harrow School, before going on to attend the Royal Military College, Sandhurst. Furthermore, he married Clementine Hozier (his life long partner) in 1908, and with her, he had 5 children: Diana Churchill, Randolf Churchill, Sarah Churchill, Marigold Churchill, and Mary Churchill.
Winston was sworn into office after Clement Attlee, at a dire time in British politics. He then went on to achieve many things in the office, particularly winning the second world war. Finally, on 24 January 1965, at the age of 90, Winston Churchill died on stroke. His final resting place is at St Martin’s Church, Bladon.
